Trulicity
Trulicity is a long-acting GLP-1 receptor agonist approved by the FDA in 2014. It is delivered in a once-weekly auto-injector that hides the needle and is widely regarded as one of the easiest GLP-1 devices to use. The REWIND trial established its role in reducing major cardiovascular events in adults with type 2 diabetes and additional cardiovascular risk factors.

How Trulicity works
Dulaglutide is a long-acting GLP-1 receptor agonist. It boosts meal-time insulin release, suppresses glucagon, slows gastric emptying, and modestly reduces appetite. Average A1C reductions are around 1-1.5 percentage points; weight loss is typically modest (2-5 kg).
Dose schedule
Trulicity starts at 0.75 mg weekly, often for 4 weeks, then 1.5 mg as the typical maintenance dose. The 3 mg and 4.5 mg doses are available for additional glycemic control. Reference ladder only — your prescriber sets your actual schedule.
Common side effects
Nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, fatigue, abdominal pain, decreased appetite, and constipation are the most common. Mild injection-site reactions occur in some patients.
