Medsafe's consumer advisory of 21 May 2026 names TB-500 and thymosin among products promoted online. It says it is illegal to import, sell or use these products outside the regulated system and that Medsafe continues to seize them. TB-500 and thymosin beta-4 both appear by name as prescription medicines in the Medsafe classification database. No medicine containing them has Medsafe consent, and 'for research purposes only' labels have no legal effect.
