Is TB-500 (thymosin beta-4 fragment) legal in China?
Not approved as a medicine here.
TB-500 (a thymosin beta-4 fragment) has no NMPA approval that we could find, and no application under that name appears in CDE's public register. China's Drug Administration Law prohibits producing or importing a drug without an approval document (Article 98). The WADA Prohibited List names thymosin-beta-4 and its derivatives, such as TB-500, among banned growth factors. CDE's register shows only 2014 new-drug filings for the parent protein, thymosin beta-4, by a domestic company, with no approval found. Approved thymosin products in China, such as thymalfasin, are different substances.
