Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing
Is Retatrutide legal in Australia?
Supply is banned or actively enforced against.
Retatrutide is still in human clinical trials and has not been approved by the TGA or a comparable regulator. The TGA named it, with BPC-157, GHK-Cu, TB-500 and CJC-1295, as an unapproved peptide product in April and June 2026, and seized retatrutide from premises in New South Wales in August 2026. In a September 2026 safety alert, laboratory testing of a vial sold as retatrutide found undeclared semaglutide and no retatrutide, after a hospital admission. Importing, advertising, manufacturing or supplying unapproved peptide products is unlawful.
