Is Orforglipron legal in China?

CDE's public register shows Lilly's clinical-trial applications for LY3502970 capsules accepted in 2023 and 66 further import clinical-trial applications for orforglipron capsules and tablets (May 2024 to 2026-06-04), and the obesity master protocol on ClinicalTrials.gov includes 12 sites in China. We found no marketing application under the name or code, and the NMPA innovative-drug approval pages we reviewed (from mid-2025) show none, so the drug cannot lawfully be sold as a medicine in China. Lilly's second-quarter 2026 report mentions a US submission for type 2 diabetes and does not mention a China filing.
