Is Mazdutide legal in China?
The regulator has approved it as a medicine.
NMPA approved Innovent's mazdutide injection as a Class 1 innovative drug on 2025-06-27, for long-term weight management in adults with a BMI of 28 or more, or 24 or more with a related condition. Innovent's release of 2025-11-25 confirms a type 2 diabetes indication and announces that CDE accepted a supplementary application for a higher strength in moderate-to-severe obesity. CDE's register shows supplementary applications accepted on 2025-11-25 that were still on its in-review list on 2026-09-29, plus further supplementary filings in 2026. Mazdutide is not on the 2025 national insurance list.
