U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)

Is KPV legal in United States?

Not approvedNo FDA approval; FDA found no human exposure data for KPV, and an advisory panel recommended considering it in July 2026 (non-binding)

Not approved as a medicine here.

KPV is not approved for any use. FDA's Category 2 page lists it among withdrawn nominations and says FDA identified no human exposure data for KPV drug products by any route. The Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee reviewed KPV for wound healing and inflammatory conditions on 23 July 2026 and, per a law-firm report, voted 8 to 6 with one abstention to recommend it for the 503A bulks list. That vote is advisory, so KPV is not currently on the list.
