Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA)
Is Ipamorelin legal in United Kingdom?
Not approved as a medicine here.
Ipamorelin has no UK marketing authorisation that we could find. It is a growth hormone secretagogue and is not an authorised medicine. We found no UK marketing authorisation and no MHRA approval announcement for it. The MHRA Products register could not be queried directly on the day of checking, so this rests on MHRA guidance and the absence of any approval notice. UK law does not allow an unauthorised medicine to be sold or supplied, and the MHRA treats a product as a medicine if it is presented as treating disease or acts on the body through a pharmacological effect. Unlicensed 'specials' may only be supplied for an individual patient's clinical need that a licensed product cannot meet, and not for cost or convenience. The MHRA says illicit sites it raided in February and May 2026 are believed to have been used to make unlicensed weight-loss medicines as well as 'peptide products'. UKAD lists peptide hormones among the substances banned at all times in sport, and athletes are strictly liable for anything found in their system; we did not verify how this specific substance is listed.
