It is an investigational medicine here, and Medsafe notes that any clinical trial of a new medicine in New Zealand needs Medsafe and ethics committee approval. Without ministerial consent it cannot lawfully be sold, supplied or advertised outside narrow prescriber exemptions. Medsafe's Product/Application Search showed no cagrilintide product or application on 29 September 2026.
