Is BPC-157 legal in United Arab Emirates?

BPC-157 is an experimental peptide, and it is not an approved medicine in the UAE. Evidence for it comes mainly from animal studies (animal-only); USADA says no human clinical trials have shown it works for any condition. In July 2026 the EDE said that calling a product a peptide does not make it an approved medicine, and it took action against 71 sources selling or promoting unapproved peptide products. Federal Decree-Law 38/2024 says no medical product may be circulated or sold in the UAE without EDE marketing approval, and I found no approval for this substance. The decree-law exempts products made in licensed compounding pharmacies from marketing approval, but I found no rule saying whether this peptide may be compounded; the EDE is inspecting compounding pharmacies, and Abu Dhabi's health department says peptides may only be prescribed for appropriate cases supported by scientific evidence. USADA notes BPC-157 is on the WADA Prohibited List under S0 (non-approved substances), which matters for athletes.
